Compare and Contrast Opinion Piece

• Identify two news sources that have written about the same topic in their editorial page. One sources will be USA Today and the other is from your own research.
  • One source must be from New York Times
  • Include a quote from each article
  • Include a citation for the article with a a hyperlink
  • If you can, include a picture that illustrates your idea
  • Use the Compare/Contrast Guide from Read/Write/Think
• Then, compare and contrast the following:
  • Who is the intended audience?
  • What is the main point of the article, that is, what are they arguing for or against?
  • What is the claim and counter claim?
